A lot has happened since I last posted 2 months ago. So much I’m not sure how to start. I can’t remember a holiday period in my life that held so much significance in my heart as this past one.
Having the normalcy of the holidays with friends and family has put me in the best of spirits. So much to be thankful for and so much to be reverent about. The grip on life is a little bit tighter with the continued reminder of the struggles that likely will be ahead.
Usually for Thanksgiving we meet up with my parents, my sister and her family in a camping location with various friends and family in tow to a varied location. These have ranged from Walt Disney World’s Fort Wilderness Campground to Fort Clinch State Park in Jacksonville. Usually wherever my parents are volunteering with their RV. My father now 86 has given up the RV and those days may now be in the past. We haven’t worked out how to handle the next phase of Thanksgiving holiday, but with the boys in Gainesville each working and daughter up in Maryland we aligned to meet at my sister’s house in Tampa. Still, we had friends in tow and my buddy from college was able to come down and spend some time with us. My only regret is my sister’s daughter’s, 3 of them were busy with work and I didn’t spend as much time with them as I would have wanted to.
