Last – Exploring Rome: A Perfect Running and Dining Day 2
Morning Run
OK so did a great little run this morning. Not that I did well but caught the middle of an actual race. It looked like I found myself in the middle of a half or full marathon. The route I intended to do started in the same direction as the run so I just followed along. Although the runners I was running next to were passing me at a good pace. Still the roads were clear and all I had to do was trek with them.
The race route ended up taking me to the Tiber River. There, I parted ways and started running along the river. I got about 2.5 miles in and gave up. I don’t know if the food from last night affected me. Or maybe it was the quick pace I was trying to keep up with. Regardless, that was enough for me. I had another 2 or so miles to walk back but it was filled with so many great sites. I was amazed.

Palazzo Colonna
We headed to the Palazzo Colonna. I was thoroughly impressed with this Palace. It was in the heart of Rome! I have been to Versailles in France as well as the Schonbrunn Palace in Austria. These were great palaces and their grounds were magnificent. But in regards to in tact art and period pieces this palace was quite amazing. More intimate and up close it felt to me. They really allowed you to get up close to some amazing paintings and tapestries. I was very impressed with what we saw there. Quite amazing.
Pasta Class
Later, I met up with my wife at the apartment. After visiting the palace, we made our way back down past the Pantheon and Piazza Nevona. We tooled around both attractions listening to some more Rick Steve’s tour recordings. We enjoyed a Caprise Salad and a beer in front of the Neptune fountain. The Piazza was packed. Completely different from when I passed it at 9am in the morning when it was totally vacant! And then we did some gift shopping and headed to our cooking class to make raviolis and pasta.
The class was fun and interesting. We ended up eating our own pasta. I must admit it was the worst meal I had while I was in Rome. Thank god I’m not a chef :).

wowwww these pictures are beautiful. we know you’re not a chef too it’s alright
